This summer, it’s a perfect storm of prehistoric peril as Jellies and Chinasaurs descend upon the Inner Harbor. While the National Aquarium and the Maryland Science Center prepare for this epic invasion, we recommend you take whatever precautions necessary to get your own family ready for a summer full of ferocious fun.

The National Aquarium introduces their brand new exhibit Jellies Invasion: Oceans Out of Balance. Jellies live in every ocean and thrive in coastal and open waters, and even live in fresh water. We rarely notice these translucent animals, but they have always been there. Because of recent changes to jellies populations, we now find that jellies are changing the balance of Earth’s ecosystems. The exhibit features the likes of the Lion’s Mane Jelly. The lion’s mane jelly is one of the longest animals in the world! In Jellies Invasion take a closer look at this amazing creature and many more at the new Jellies exhibit!

To add to the excitement, Chinasaurs is opening at the Maryland Science Center! Chinasaurs is the largest collection of authentic Chinese dinosaur fossils to ever tour! More than 20 skeletons, up to 70-feet long, and 20 fossil objects including nests, are displayed in an evocative environment. The exhibit includes interactive activities such as touch-screens, activity carts, and robotic dinosaurs. Cultural artifacts and a look at dragon mythology add to the experience. You don’t want to miss this exciting presentation of such rare finds!
