Lighting of the Washington Monument – FREE!
Mt. Vernon, December 1st (5:30 PM – 8:00 PM)

 Baltimore’s aglow for the holiday season with the official lighting of the Washington Monument, which features an evening of choir performances, strolling entertainment, and more. The event ends with a colorful fireworks finale choreographed to music.

 

Holiday Festival of Trains

Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum, Nov. 25 – Dec. 31, 2011

Celebrate the holiday season at Baltimore’s largest holiday display of toy and model train layouts. Santa arrives by locomotive to the Roundhouse at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 25. Weekend train rides and photo opportunities with Santa through December 21. Weekend train rides and photo opportunities with Frosty the Snowman through December 31. It’s a train load of fun that’s become an annual holiday tradition!

 

Miracle on 34th Street – FREE! 

34th Street in Hampden, Nov. 26, 2011 – Jan. 1, 2012

One block in Hampden puts on a Christmas light display that is surely visible from space. Neighbors in this block of rowhouses string Christmas lights across 34th Street. Inflatable snowglobes, musical trains and blinking angels adorn homes. A few even allow visitors to peek inside. The lights are on every night from Thanksgiving weekend to January 1st, including all night on Christmas Eve

Baltimore’s nautical spirit is all aglow for the annual Parade of Lighted Boats. More than 50 boats and pleasure crafts, bedecked and sparkling in their holiday finery, make their way from Baltimore’s world-famous Inner Harbor to Fell’s Point, festooned with holiday lights. Santa Claus himself has been known to set sail for the occasion!

 

The Night of 100 ELVISes
