CHAGALL FOR CHILDREN AT PORT DISCOVERY

Chagall for Children

Chagall for Children

This summer Port Discovery Children’s Museum announced they will host Chagall for Children, a one-of-a-kind interactive art exhibit that helps children and adults alike develop a greater understanding and appreciation of all forms of artistic expression.

Based on the art of Marc Chagall (1887-1985), a Russian-born Jewish painter who lived most of his life in France, Chigall for Children features 14 fine reproductions of the artist’s works. Visitors may experience and explore paintings such as The Birthday, The Rooster and Paris Through the Window, through a variety of multi-sensory, hands-on activities. At different stations throughout the exhibit, children can create mosaics, weave tapestries, use touch screens to digitally alter Chagall’s masterpieces, conduct symphonies and through the magic of video, they can even insert themselves into one of his paintings.
