Artscape 2009
Artscape is back this summer and taking place on July 17-19th 2009! It is the largest free public arts festival in the country featuring live concerts, fashion designers, artists, and craftspeople. A variety of live performances will be presented on three different stages including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, dance, opera, theater, fashion, film, and experimental music.
Events such as hands-on projects, demonstrations, competitions, children’s entertainers and multiple street theater locations make it an enjoyable outing for all ages. Visit the Target Art Park, located at Pearlstone Park across from the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Throughout the weekend, visit the Target Make it at Artscape tent to paint, draw, sticker and stamp; the Target Activity Tent for fun family activities and the Building with Target tent to make building block sculptures.
Artscape also offers a wide variety of international foods and beverages. Artscape is open on Friday and Saturday from 12-10p.m. and on Sunday from 12-8p.m. on Mount Royal Avenue and Cathedral St. in the Bolton Hill neighborhood close to the Lyric Opera House.
